The Philippine e-commerce landscape is entering a new phase—one that demands more than simply selling online. Recognizing this shift, E-Commerce Expo Philippines (ECOMEX) 2026 was officially introduced during its Media and Ecosystem Launch on July 9, bringing together government leaders, industry experts, entrepreneurs, business organizations, and media partners behind a shared vision of building a stronger digital commerce ecosystem.
Powered by PHILSME and organized by MediaTrix Solutions Inc., ECOMEX is a collaborative platform that connects entrepreneurs, online sellers, and innovators with technology providers, marketplaces, logistics companies, fintech firms, digital agencies, educators, investors, government agencies, and other industry stakeholders to foster learning, strategic partnerships, and business growth in the digital economy.

Rather than positioning itself solely as a trade exhibition, ECOMEX is being developed as an ecosystem initiative that reflects how modern businesses grow online.
Scheduled for November 20–21, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig, ECOMEX 2026 will welcome more than 5,000 entrepreneurs, online sellers, innovators, and industry stakeholders for two days of exhibitions, conferences, business matching, networking, and learning sessions focused on the technologies, strategies, and partnerships driving the future of digital commerce in the Philippines.
Its focus extends beyond showcasing products and services. ECOMEX seeks to help businesses strengthen every stage of the customer journey—from customer acquisition and digital marketing to payments, fulfillment, customer experience, and long-term retention.
This ecosystem approach recognizes that succeeding in e-commerce today requires businesses to integrate multiple capabilities rather than relying on a single sales channel.
Why It Matters to Entrepreneurs

For many Filipino SMEs, digital transformation has shifted from being a growth opportunity to becoming a competitive necessity.
During the launch, Trixie Esguerra-Abrenilla, Founder and Organizer of ECOMEX and CEO and Managing Director of PHILSME, said today’s challenge for businesses extends far beyond simply selling products online.
“Philippine e-commerce success depends on execution across the entire customer journey. The challenge is no longer simply how to sell online, but how to acquire, convert, fulfill and retain customers. These are exactly the kinds of questions ECOMEX is built to address.”
Her message reflects how digital commerce has evolved. For many SMEs, success now depends on integrating marketing, payments, fulfillment, customer experience, and long-term customer relationships rather than treating e-commerce as a standalone sales channel.
Strategic Context

The launch comes as the Philippine e-commerce market continues to expand rapidly. Industry projections cited during the event estimate that the sector will grow from approximately USD 20 billion in 2026 to nearly USD 38 billion by 2031, driven by higher digital adoption, expanding logistics infrastructure, mobile payments, social commerce, and continued government support for digital transformation.
Government participation underscored the importance of collaboration in sustaining that momentum.
In a recorded message, Department of Trade and Industry E-Commerce Bureau Director Eryl Royce Nagtalon highlighted the importance of collaboration in sustaining the country’s digital economy.
“Maintaining a safe and reliable e-commerce environment is a shared responsibility. Achieving this requires all of us—the government, the industry, and every Filipino entrepreneur and consumer—working together.”
Nagtalon also described ECOMEX as a timely initiative that can help businesses scale through innovative digital solutions while strengthening trust in the country’s online marketplace.

Digital entrepreneur and content strategist Reymond “Boss RDR” Delos Reyes emphasized that technology alone does not build successful digital businesses.
“ECOMEX is not just an expo. For me, ECOMEX is a movement where we recognize and celebrate the people building Philippine e-commerce.”
He added that bringing together entrepreneurs, solution providers, and industry experts creates opportunities for businesses to learn, innovate, and build partnerships that extend beyond the event itself.
Entrepreneur and financial educator Chinkee Tan called on business owners to embrace digital transformation as a core business strategy.
“The biggest risk is this: if your business is not on the internet, you will soon be out of business.”
He encouraged entrepreneurs to continuously invest in learning, build trusted personal brands, and take advantage of industry events that expose them to new ideas, technologies, and partnerships.
Together, the discussions reflected a common message: sustainable digital growth depends on continuous learning, strategic partnerships, and the ability to adapt to an evolving marketplace.
PHILSME Perspective

For PHILSME, ECOMEX represents a natural extension of its mission to connect Filipino entrepreneurs with practical business solutions and growth opportunities.
By bringing together technology providers, marketplaces, logistics companies, financial service providers, educators, investors, and government agencies in one collaborative platform, ECOMEX aims to help entrepreneurs navigate the increasingly interconnected world of digital commerce. Beyond facilitating transactions, it seeks to strengthen the relationships, knowledge sharing, and business networks that enable SMEs to grow sustainably in the digital economy.
As Philippine businesses continue their digital transformation journeys, success will increasingly depend on access to trusted partners, emerging technologies, market knowledge, and collaborative ecosystems rather than individual tools alone.
ECOMEX 2026 reflects that shift by creating a platform where entrepreneurs can discover solutions, build strategic relationships, and gain insights that support long-term business growth. For SMEs looking to remain competitive in an increasingly connected marketplace, initiatives that bring together the entire digital commerce value chain are becoming more relevant than ever.
